The Actelis Networks WiFi Backhaul Solutions enable carriers to cost effectively bring more bandwidth back from WiFi networks that are distributed in a wide variety of locations throughout the metro, many of which are typically located off the fiber network footprint.  Actelis provides high performance Ethernet that is cost effective and scalable up to 15-80 Mbps per pair.

The Actelis WiFi Backhaul Solution is based on our G.SHDSL and VDSL2 “bonded” EFM over Copper portfolio, which is complemented by our innovative analog Broadband Amplifiers where added distance or bandwidth is required.  Actelis offers options for both symmetrical and asymmetrical WiFi backhaul that is reliable, high performance, and reaches throughout the metro.

Symmetrical WiFi Backhaul (G.SHDSL)

  • Carrier Ethernet over bonded copper using G.SHDSL technology
  • High bandwidth: Up to 480 Mbps symmetric per link, 15+Mbps per  pair and up to 32 bonded pairs of G.SHDSL
  • Cost optimized choices in ML600 series Ethernet access devices options for WiFi base station sites
  • Efficient, high density aggregation using ML2300/230 at core network locations
  • Extended range (100+kft., up to 8 hops / 9 segments) available with Actelis XR239 spectrally friendly Repeaters

Symmetric WiFI Backhaul Solution

Asymmetrical WiFi Backhaul (VDSL2/ADSL2+)

  • Carrier Ethernet over bonded copper using VDSL2
  • Up to 750 Mbps asymmetric backhaul per link using bonded Ethernet over copper (up to 8 pairs)
  • Actelis ML700 EADs at WiFi base station site can interwork with any vendor’s DSLAM or be book-ended
  • Greater reach and rate can be achieved by using the Actelis Broadband Amplifiers * - ADSL Broadband Amplifier (ABA) or the VDSL Broadband Amplifier (VBA)

Asymmetric WiFi Backhaul Solution

Common Features for both Symmetric and Asymmetric Solutions:

  • Flexible self-contained hardened enclosures for outdoor deployment on poles, strands, walls
  • AC, DC or Remote line powering option avoids costly external power sourcing
  • Option to supply integrated power for both the Actelis EAD and the WiFi base station lowering both CAPEX and OPEX
