Actelis Networks Named Worldwide Market Leader of EFM over Bonded Copper by Infonetics Research
Actelis’ continuing global expansion, coupled with the best rate, reach and reliability, bolsters its leadership position.
FREMONT, Calif., September 28, 2009 - Actelis Networks®, the leading global supplier of Ethernet over bonded copper solutions, today announced it has been recognized #1 in the Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) bonded copper Ethernet Access Device (EAD) category by Infonetics Research, one of the telecom industry’s leading and most respected analyst research and consulting firms. Actelis’ market leadership is attributed to its best-in-class portfolio of EFM over bonded copper products, which are widely deployed by more than 150 customers in 35 countries.
In the just-released Infonetics Research market report titled “Carrier Ethernet Equipment, Biannual Worldwide and Regional Market Share, Size, and Forecasts,” the EFM bonded copper equipment revenue and EFM ports deployed from Actelis products and all competitors within the industry are tracked as part of the EADs category. The report states that Actelis has the worldwide #1 revenue position, with 34% market share for EFM bonded copper products.
“Actelis is riding the Ethernet wave, earning the #1 market share in 2008 by selling EFM bonded copper products to service providers around the world for use in applications such as business connection, DSLAM backhaul, cell site backhaul, and city traffic control,” stated Michael Howard, principal analyst and co-founder at Infonetics Research.
“ Actelis Networks is extremely proud to be recognized by Infonetics Research for its market leadership and our ongoing commitment to providing superior Ethernet over bonded copper products to telecom service providers, enterprises and municipalities,” said Eric Vallone, vice president of marketing at Actelis Networks. “We owe our number one global market position to our valued customers, who recognize and benefit from Actelis’ innovative leadership and product differentiators.”
With industry-leading broadband symmetrical speeds at more than 15 Mbps per copper pair, Actelis Networks’ EFM over bonded copper solutions enable the delivery of enhanced broadband services to residential and business customers located as far as 100 Kft (30 km) from a central office or remote terminal, when paired with the company’s standards-based and widely deployed XR239 EFM Repeaters.
Actelis’ products are also RoHS 6 compliant, making them the greenest solution for Carrier Ethernet over copper deployments, according to Vallone. Additionally, Actelis’ ML600 EADs recently became RUS listed, along with its standards-compliant ML2300 next-generation Ethernet aggregation platforms and XR239 EFM Repeaters.
“With the greatest rate, reach and reliability of any EFM over bonded copper products in their class, Actelis makes it possible for service providers to leverage Ethernet’s inherent economies of scale to deliver affordable, next-generation broadband services,” added Vallone. “Our products create more efficient and cost-effective networks that provide greater network capacity for backhauling data from cell site towers and IP DSLAMs, as well as providing enhanced business-class broadband services, and managing intelligent transportation systems.”
