March 2020, Fremont CA - Actelis Networks, the market leader in cyber-hardened, hybrid fiber-copper networking solutions for wide-area IoT applications, announces general availability of its cost-effective 10GE ML560M Ethernet over fiber device. Recognizing the requirements for higher bandwidth in the access network, the ML560M product line joins Actelis’ hybrid portfolio of fiber and bonded copper product lines, offering Actelis customers across the board – Telco, utility, cities, government, military, and rail - to easily expand and extend their fiber networks supporting 10G interfaces.
The ML560M delivers advanced MEF Carrier Ethernet business class Ethernet services over fiber infrastructure and can be effectively used in various network scenarios as an Ethernet Demarcation Device (EDD), Network Interface Device (NID), Ethernet Access Device (EAD) or Network Termination Unit (NTU).
The ML562M is the first product introduced as part of the ML560M product line. It is an eight-port fiber switch with two 10GE fiber SFP ports, two 2.5GE SFP ports and four electrical GE RJ45 ports.
Compact and hardened for extreme temperature, the ML560M supports flexible indoor or outdoor deployment, fitting easily even in high space constraint points like street cabinets. The ML560M is 1U high and half the width of a 19” rack. It can be powered by either AC or DC power, thus removing the requirement for additional AC/DC adapters.
As cyber-security is a major concern, the ML560M supports advanced protocols to ensure the safety of the network, including support for RADIUS, TACACS+, IEEE 802.1x, ACLs, user authentication levels, and many others.
The ML560M, can be deployed as a mini-aggregator connected to ML540M fiber devices which provide a total of 10 GE ports - SFP or RJ45 ports, or to an Actelis ML600x hybrid fiber-copper switch used to provide services for areas in which fiber is not yet available.
The ML560M can be managed using CLI, a GUI web interface, or via Actelis’ advanced MetaASSIST EMS (Element Management System), providing FCAPS functionality including alarm management, inventory management, configuration management with automation through scheduled tasks, advanced security functionality, and a Northbound interface allowing integration with higher NMS or OSS systems.
