FREMONT, Calif., May 10, 2012 - Actelis®, The Broadband Acceleration Company™, has been named a finalist in the Telecommunications category for the 2012 TechAmerica Foundation American Technology Awards (ATA’s). The ATA’s cross the technology industry, recognizing technology products and services like Actelis’ Broadband Accelerator (BBA).

Commenting on the nomination, Vivek Ragavan, president and CEO of Actelis, said: “We’re delighted the Actelis BBA has been nominated as a finalist for this prestigious award. Winners will be announced at the Technology and Government gala dinner in Washington, D.C., on June 13, 2012. The awards, also known as the “Termans” in honor of the widely credited father of Silicon Valley, are awarded on the basis of a thorough evaluation by industry experts and technology leaders.

Actelis Wins “Supplier Thought Leader” Award
In other award-related news, Actelis also picked up the “Supplier Thought Leader” award at last week’s NGT Euro Summit in Kilkenny, Ireland. Senior-level executives, including CIOs and CTOs from the world’s most recognizable brands, met with industry-leading telecom manufacturers to discuss the latest technologies, trends and business models for delivering broadband services.

“The objective of the summit was to engage the world’s leading service providers with the industry’s most innovative manufacturers to discuss the telecom challenges facing our industry, such as delivering on the promise of universal broadband, leveraging the cloud, and maximizing network assets and investment that will future proof networks and accelerate new revenue opportunities,” said Joe Manuele, executive vice president of worldwide sales and customer support at Actelis. “For Actelis to be recognized among this highly esteemed peer group is a testament to our rich culture of technology innovation for accelerating broadband adoption around the globe.”

The American Technology Award and NGT “Supplier Thought Leader” Award join the growing list of industry recognition Actelis has received this year. Others include INTERNET TELEPHONY’s Product of the Year award for Actelis’ BBA product line. Additionally, the company was recently recognized as a finalist in the categories of “Technology Foresight” and “Best Specialist Vendor” by the World Vendor Awards.
