Actelis Networks Introduces Award Winning Carrier Ethernet Over Copper Product
Family at CeBIT 2006, Germany
Actelis demonstrates its powerful combination of Ethernet in the First Mile
access and Carrier Ethernet switching in a single Ethernet Access Device
(EAD)
CeBIT, Hannover, Germany, 10 March 2006 - Actelis Networks®, the leading provider of Carrier Ethernet over Copper™ networking equipment, has launched its new ML600 Ethernet Access Device (EAD) to enhance the delivery of Carrier Ethernet services worldwide. The ML600 is the most recent addition to Actelis' complete portfolio of Carrier Ethernet solutions, and has already won the NetEvents Metro Product of the Year award for 2006.
A natural evolution of the Actelis Carrier Ethernet over Copper product family, the ML600 combines Actelis' innovative EFMplus™ Ethernet in the First Mile copper transmission capabilities with Carrier Ethernet service delivery features. The converged platform enables carriers and operators worldwide to significantly expand the footprint of their Ethernet services reach by leveraging their existing copper infrastructure. Actelis EFMplus-based platforms are the only solutions in the market that deliver the performance, resiliency and simplicity that carriers need to give their customers consistent Ethernet services over both copper and fiber media.
"Actelis platforms are an ideal solution for us," said Lorraine Leeming, Vice President of Regional Sales at Frontier. "They provide fiber-quality, high-speed Ethernet over our existing copper and fiber infrastructure. We have tested several solutions and Actelis has outperformed them all, delivering the best performance and reliability over the copper infrastructure. The Actelis platforms allow us to cost-effectively utilize both our existing copper and fiber infrastructure and to increase our service offerings with optical confidence."
"Actelis is proud to launch the new ML 600 EAD, which was awarded the Metro Product of the Year award prior to its official release," stated Yossi Saad, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Actelis Networks. "Actelis solutions combine our innovative EFMplus high performance transmission for copper access networks, with full Carrier Ethernet switching capabilities, which enable network operators, like Frontier, to provide full coverage of their customer base using their existing copper network. The performance and reliability of the ML 600 provides a "fiber-like experience" to the deploying service providers and to the end users who enjoy a high-speed, fiber-quality service."
The ML600 EAD is a compact, cost-effective Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) platform, delivering up to 45 Mbps of symmetrical Ethernet services over up to eight pairs of existing copper, and up to 400Mbps over fiber infrastructure. The ML600 EAD can be deployed in a Point-to-Point configuration or as the CPE in a Point-to-Multi-Point configuration with Actelis' EFM switches. With its superior, fiber-quality performance, extensive functionality and low cost, the ML600 EAD platforms offer rapid service delivery and allow for complete utilization of the existing network infrastructure.
Actelis Carrier Ethernet over Copper products are available through Actelis' distribution network around the world and will be demonstrated at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany, March 9 -15 (Hall 12, booth C24). During the show Actelis will be hosting a press conference in their booth on Friday March 10th at 11am in English and 11:30 in German. Additionally George Lasry, General Manager for Actelis International operations will be presenting at the CeBIT Network Forum in Hall 16 a presentation entitled "Delivering Profitable Carrier Ethernet Services Everywhere" on Saturday March 12th at 3:20.
