Broadview Networks Selects Actelis Networks' Carrier Ethernet Over Copper Solutions with Solunet/Dynavar
A Leading Competitive Local Exchange Carrier to Provide Multi-Megabit Bandwidth for Voice and Data Services
FREMONT, CA and RYE BROOK, NY, October 9, 2006 – Actelis Networks, the leading provider of Carrier Ethernet over Copper™ solutions and Broadview Networks, a leading facilities-based communications provider in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, today announced that Broadview Networks will deploy Metro Ethernet service using Carrier Ethernet solutions from Actelis Networks. Utilizing existing copper infrastructure, Broadview will provide multi-megabit voice and data services throughout its entire footprint, in addition to its subscriber base of over 600,000 access lines. Actelis solutions, based upon their innovative EFMplus™ technology, enables carriers to create attractive services to end-users supporting a variety of next generation applications.
"We strive to exceed the ever-changing needs of our customers by delivering a total solution of voice, data, hardware and managed IT services," said Brian Crotty, Broadview Networks' President and Chief Operating Officer. "The Actelis solution allows us to provide highly cost effective high-speed Ethernet solutions to our customers, while maintaining rigorous quality and performance standards. We are excited to be working with Solunet/Dynavar, the system integration consultant on the project, to deliver a complete solution that supports Broadview's strategy."
"Broadview's vision of delivering high-speed Ethernet services throughout their entire market creates a need for expanding the services over existing copper infrastructure," said Mehmet Balos, President of America's and Chief Marketing Officer of Actelis Networks. "We're extremely pleased to be selected by Broadview to enable this ambitious and cutting edge expansion, which smartly leverages existing, underutilized infrastructure and enables fiber-like performance for customers."
Actelis' products feature the best performing EFM transmission and consistently deliver more bandwidth and higher reliability in real-world conditions over the existing voice grade copper plant. The combination of Actelis' industry-leading EFMplus layer-1 technology with standards-based advanced Carrier Ethernet layer-2 switching capabilities enable carriers to meet the growing demand for Metro Ethernet services over the copper infrastructure without sacrificing service performance or quality.
"Broadview is an innovator that has used advanced technology to successfully deliver unique multi-service solutions to their customers for some time," said Phil O'Reilly, CEO of Solunet/Dynavar Corporation. "We look forward to working with Broadview to continue its leadership and growth with the integration of Actelis' EFMplus technology for high-bandwidth, high-quality, symmetrical services."
