Actelis’ MetaLIGHT Ethernet-Over-Copper Platform Receives Latest
Award
FREMONT, CA., October 12, 2005 - Actelis Networks® Inc., a worldwide leader delivering Ethernet over copper solutions, today announced that International Engineering Consortium (IEC) has awarded the prestigious InfoVision Award to the MetaLIGHT Ethernet-over-Copper platform at this year's Broadband World Forum Europe, held 3–6 October in Madrid, Spain. The MetaLIGHT platform was received the award in the category of Metro Network Technologies and Services.
The InfoVision Award program recognizes corporations and individuals for pioneering developments in technologies, applications, products, advances, and services judged to be the most unique and beneficial in the telecommunications industry. With hundreds of submissions and only two winners in each of the eight categories, the highly-coveted awards gave tribute to those catalyzing positive change in technology, business, and academia, completely in line with the IEC's mission. The Awards Committee is composed of chairpersons, committee members, and executives from manufacturers and service providers. The Criteria is based on innovation, uniqueness, market impact, customer benefits, and value to society.
"This award recognizes Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) over Copper as a key component in the Carrier Ethernet network", said Michael Kennedy, managing partner at Network Strategy Partners. "Utilizing the copper infrastructure to deliver Ethernet services is the most economical way to make Ethernet services ubiquitous. Actelis Networks is the market leader in EFM over Copper and its widely deployed MetaLIGHT platform well deserves the InfoVision Award."
"Actelis is very proud to be honored with the InfoVision Award from the IEC," said Yossi Saad, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Actelis Networks. "The MetaLIGHT platform has received validation with this award and also in worldwide deployments. The MetaLIGHT Ethernet-over-Copper platform is a dynamic opportunity for service providers to utilize its technology and service capabilities to enhance and expand their metro networks."
