Actelis Launches MetaLIGHT 1300, MetaLIGHT 130, and MetaLIGHT 50 Ethernet over Copper Platforms in Europe

FREMONT, Calif., March 18, 2004 - Actelis Networks®,a leading supplier of solutions that enable profitable, carrier-grade broadband services over copper infrastructure, announced today, at CEBIT 2004 (Hall 27, Booth E32), the availability of its MetaLIGHT® 1300, MetaLIGHT 130 and MetaLIGHT 50 Ethernet-over-Copper solutions in the European market. Noting a significant demand in Europe for Ethernet solutions that can be delivered over copper, these new additions to the MetaLIGHT Metro product family allow service providers and enterprises to cost-effectively and rapidly deliver high-speed high quality Ethernet services to locations only served by copper.

Utilizing standards-based G.SHDSL.bis modems and designed to comply with the emerging IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) standard, Actelis' new MetaLIGHT platforms can provide up to 40 Mbps of Ethernet services to customers and/or locations deprived of fiber. Additionally, the new MetaLIGHT platforms powered by Actelis' patented MetaLOOP® technology provide by far greater rate, reach and reliability, while remaining a standards-based solution. The MetaLIGHT products support point-To-Point and Point-To-Multi-Point configurations.

"The search for ways to meet the demands for Ethernet services without conducting major infrastructure upgrades, is now over," said Yossi Saad, vice president of marketing, Actelis Networks. "Actelis' new MetaLIGHT platforms assist service providers in addressing this demand by initially deploying the cost-effective MetaLIGHT 50 point-to-point solution, and as demand increases, migrate to the larger MetaLIGHT 130 or MetaLIGHT 1300 point-to-point platforms."

Actelis recently received the Investor's Choice Award for technological innovation and providing genuine business value to worldwide service providers and enterprises. "This vote of confidence by the investor community and our peers validates our belief that there is a strong demand in the marketplace for Actelis' Ethernet over Copper platforms," said Tuvia Barlev, president, CEO and co-founder, Actelis Networks. "Over the last year, we have announced multiple new customers and won awards from both technology events/press and the investor community. We are very excited about the prospects for Actelis in the coming years."
