Actelis Networks Continues Market Dominance With #1 Global Ranking by Infonetics Research

FREMONT, Calif., November 22, 2010 - The ability of Actelis Networks, the leading global provider of Ethernet over copper solutions, to accelerate network performance, new revenue opportunities, and wide-scale adoption of Ethernet over copper services by network operators worldwide continues to bolster the company’s undisputed number one global market share position. For 2009 EFM bonded-copper EADs (Ethernet Access Devices), Actelis has a substantial lead in the market, according to data recently published by Infonetics Research.

In the report, “Carrier Ethernet Equipment: Biannual Worldwide and Regional Market Share, Size, and Forecasts,” worldwide EAD revenue is expected to hit $756 million in 2010, a 35% increase over 2009, and is forecast to reach $1.9 billion in 2014. Michael Howard, co-founder and principal analyst who authored the report, stated the current forecast for copper EADs is conservative, and pointed out that North America and EMEA regions are the primary contributors to the forecasted revenue growth. Actelis continues to accelerate deployment of Ethernet over copper services in these two regions for large tier 1 and tier 2 carriers, as well as independent and alternative carriers.

“We significantly increased our copper EADs forecasts, as we see fresh evidence that more operators recognize that the capacities required for business services, broadband backhaul, and mobile backhaul cannot wait for fiber,” commented Howard. “New developments in EFM copper products are leading service providers to replace insufficient TDM (E1/T1) with high-speed EFM over bonded-copper solutions. It appears the long expected TDM replacement market has finally begun in earnest.”

For the second consecutive year, Actelis has been recognized by Infonetics Research as the number one global market leader for Ethernet over bonded-copper products. Actelis’ continued innovation in Ethernet over copper solutions, coupled with a dramatic increase in growth over this same time period, reinforces Actelis’ leadership position for accelerating everything required to meet the unprecedented bandwidth demands being placed on today’s networks. And with minimal cost and the quickest return on investment, Actelis’ EFM over bonded-copper solutions accelerate a service provider’s ability to significantly upgrade the necessary bandwidth needed across its customer serving area.

“Actelis accelerates broadband deployments by providing the greatest rate, reach and reliability with guaranteed quality of service and enhanced service level agreements for business-class services, DSLAM and mobile backhaul,” said Eric Vallone, vice president of marketing at Actelis. “T1 and E1 lines, typically used for business services and backhauling the majority of remote DSLAMs and mobile base stations, have proved inadequate to meet the stress being placed on the access network by the increased demand for bandwidth. With Actelis, service providers can easily and economically accelerate their broadband network performance, deployments and revenue opportunities.”
