Actelis Networks Honored as SUPERQuest Award Winner at Supercomm 2003

Next generation MetaLIGHT 1500 solution selected as one of the most promising network technologies for worldwide carriers

FREMONT, Calif., June 19, 2003 - Actelis Networks®, a leading supplier of solutions that enable profitable, carrier-grade, broadband services over local loop copper, was honored at SUPERCOMM's sixth annual SUPERQuest awards ceremony, held June 3 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Actelis Networks MetaLIGHT® 1500 was honored in the Access Networking Equipment category for being one of the most promising network technologies.

For six years, the SUPERQuest Awards have honored the best-built networks and most promising new technologies among SUPERCOMM exhibitors and their customers worldwide. SUPERQuest Award recipients have been selected as the best of the best in delivering exceptional network design, supporting technologies and products across all facets of the communications infrastructure industry. Winners and runners-up are chosen by a panel of judges which include industry leading technology press, analysts and other experts.

According to Jack Chalden, general manager of SUPERCOMM, "The strength and resiliency of this industry is reflected in the SUPERQuest Award Winners and Runners-Up. These forward-thinking, innovative companies give promise to the continuing growth and development of this industry and show us exactly where we should be headed in the future."

Based on Actelis' patented MetaLOOP™ technology, the MetaLIGHT 1500 solution provides high-speed, fiber-quality, broadband services over the existing copper plant. The MetaLIGHT 1500 is designed to complement a service provider's fiber network by allowing them to use their existing copper plant to offer fiber quality broadband services to business customers who only have access to copper. MetaLIGHT 1500 is simple to deploy without the need for loop pre-qualification. It provides far superior rate, reach and reliability compared to other products on the market and allows service provides to maximize the available revenue from customers throughout the Carrier Serving Area (CSA) and beyond.

"When we released the first version of the MetaLIGHT 1500 last year, many carriers told us this solution was going to dramatically enhance the ability for them to offer business class broadband services," said David Perry, vice president of corporate marketing, Actelis Networks. "Considering the MetaLIGHT 1500 is deployed in multiple customer networks and now has been honored at the SUPERQuest awards, it truly validates that Actelis is offering innovative solutions that can help service providers expand their service offerings and increase revenues, while keeping their CAPEX to a minimum."
