Actelis Networks Leads First Group of Companies in Achieving Metro Ethernet Forum Mef 14 Certification

Actelis ML130/1300 and ML600 Carrier Ethernet over Copper Switches Certified
Compliant with Rigorous Traffic Management Requirements for All 3 MEF-Defined Services

GlobalComm, Chicago, Illinois,
June 6, 2006
– Actelis Networks® Inc., the leader in
Carrier Ethernet over Copper™ solutions, today announced that they
have received MEF 14 certification for all three services defined by the
Metro Ethernet Forum, including Ethernet Private Line (EPL) Ethernet Virtual
Private Line (EVPL) and Ethernet LAN (ELAN). The ML600 and ML130/1300 products
were tested by Iometrix test laboratory and have been certified to comply
with the rigorous requirements established in the MEF 14 Abstract Test
Suite for Traffic Management.

The specification requires advanced Carrier Ethernet switching functionality
to deliver bandwidth profiles at the User Network Interface (UNI), Ethernet
Virtual Circuit (EVC) and Class of Service (CoS) for each of the three service
types (EPL, EVPL and E-LAN). The testing and certification were performed
by Iometrix, the MEF authorized independent certification agency. The certification
announcement was made at the Metro Ethernet Forum’s booth at GlobalComm
today during a ceremony honoring the North American “
Service Provider of the Year.”

“The advanced traffic management specifications defined by the Metro
Ethernet Forum and certified by the MEF 14 test suite gives service providers
the powerful controls they have been looking for to effectively deliver Ethernet
based products,” said Michael Howard, Principle Analyst and Co-Founder
of Infonetics Research. “Obtaining MEF 14 certification from the MEF’s
independent test lab, Iometrix, is a validation that Actelis’ Carrier
Ethernet over Copper equipment can deliver advanced Carrier Ethernet services.”

“Actelis is proud to be the first Carrier Ethernet over copper vendor
to achieve the MEF14 certification. We are continuing to add advanced Carrier
Ethernet switching capabilities to our award-winning Carrier Ethernet over
Copper products.” said Craig Easley, Associate Vice President of Marketing
at Actelis Networks. “The combination of traffic management features
with superior Ethernet in the First Mile transmission over copper, gives
service providers the ideal solution for extending the reach of their Ethernet
services beyond their fiber optic networks, without sacrificing performance
or reliability.”

Actelis’ award-winning product portfolio combines innovative Ethernet
transmission technology with standard-based Carrier Ethernet switching features,
including those specified in the rigorous MEF 14 Traffic Management abstract
test plan, to give service providers, and private network operators a solution
for deploying high performance, highly reliable Ethernet services over the
existing copper infrastructure. Actelis offers a wide range of product configurations
that support both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations,
over 1 to 8 pair(s) of voice grade copper. Actelis products fully comply
with the IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) and ITU-T G.998 standards,
and are certified to be compliant with the Metro Ethernet Forum MEF 9 and
MEF 14 specifications.

Actelis' patented EFMplus™ technology provides the highest reliability
of any Carrier Ethernet over Copper solution along with best rate and reach
performance. With the ability to provide high-quality bandwidth at extremely
long distances, Actelis' platforms are ideal to support the extension of
Carrier Ethernet services over the copper infrastructure to support a wide
range of broadband applications. These include transparent LAN services,
and voice and video over IP as well as backhauling of cell site base stations,
remote DSLAMs and WiFi hotspots.
